MĀIA COLLECTIVE
Privacy Statement
For wāhine, tāne and whānau engaging with Māia Collective
Māia Collective Trust (CC58133) collects and holds personal information about the people we work alongside. This statement explains what we collect, why, and your rights. It sits under the Privacy Act 2020 and our commitment to Māori Data Sovereignty.
What we collect
- Your name and contact details
- Information you give us at intake, including what support you are looking for
- Notes about your participation in our programmes
- Feedback and evaluation responses
- Anything else you choose to share with us
Why we collect it
To provide support, match you with the right programme, keep you safe, improve what we do, and report to our funders in aggregate. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for anything you have not been told about.
Who sees it
Only kaimahi who need it to support you. We share information outside Māia only with your consent, or where the law requires it, including where someone is at risk of serious harm. We report to funders using numbers and themes, never your name.
How we look after it
Your information is stored in password protected systems with role based access. We hold it for seven years after your programme ends, then destroy it. If there is ever a breach involving your information we will tell you.
Your rights
- You can ask to see the information we hold about you
- You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- You can withdraw from any programme at any time
- You can make a complaint, and it will not affect the support you receive
