When mothers thrive, generations thrive.
Puāwai supports māmā during one of life's most influential seasons – through culturally grounded experiences that prioritise rest, reconnection, healing, and wellbeing. Delivered in Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Taitokerau, with cohorts of up to twenty māmā at a time.
Registrations open year-round
Guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā
A place to be seen, to be heard, to be supported.
The wellbeing of māmā and pēpi are inseparable. By strengthening maternal wellbeing, we contribute to healthier whānau, improved outcomes for pēpi, and stronger foundations for lifelong wellbeing – through connection, care, and culturally grounded support.
What we explore in Puāwai
Five themes, woven through the kaupapa.
01
Grief & Trauma
Providing safe space to acknowledge mamae, navigate loss, and understand how trauma shows up in mind, body, and daily life – with compassion and without judgement.
02
Emotional Intelligence & Self-Regulation
Building awareness of thoughts, emotions and triggers; strengthening the ability to respond calmly and confidently; and learning practical tools for managing stress, overwhelm, and conflict.
03
Resilience & Inner Strength
Exploring what resilience looks like for solo māmā, recognising personal strengths, and nurturing the mindset required to rise through adversity.
04
Identity, Worth & Connection
Reclaiming identity beyond the roles māmā hold, strengthening confidence, and building relationships that uplift and support.
05
Gratitude & Daily Practices
Integrating simple habits that create grounding, balance, and joy – even in busy or challenging seasons.
Puāwai is not about telling māmā how to parent or how to live. It's about providing the support many māmā never receive – gentle guidance, real tools, and a community that wraps around them with aroha and understanding.
When a māmā grows stronger on the inside, her tamariki, her home, and her future grow with her.
